What is Dialup?

A dialup connection uses a standard phone line to connect you to the Internet via your computer's modem. With dialup you can't receive calls and be signed on to the Internet at the same time on the same phone line. Dialup also isn't as fast as some other methods of connection, but it is very affordable, making it a good choice for individual residents who don't need to transfer very large amounts of data.
