Aeneas is an Internet Service provider offering full Internet
access to business and residential customers. These policies
apply to all users of the computer systems operated by Aeneas
and to all networks operated by Aeneas.
Aeneas Internet Services is not responsible for the content
of the data traveling over our network. Aeneas Internet Services
is not responsible for our customers' online actions. We as
a company subscribe to the prevailing standards of decency and
conduct of the community in which we are located. Aeneas Internet
Services reserves the right to terminate subscription of any
customer who uses our network in an improper manner.
All data transmissions via Aeneas networks and files stored
on Aeneas computers are subject to inspection if a security
breach is suspected. The Aeneas administration will use their
best judgment to preserve the privacy of information and will
not divulge any information found during these inspections except
to law enforcement officials and the parties directly involved
in such a security incident.
A breach of security is an act that directly or indirectly
threatens the integrity of the operating systems, the data contained
on networked computers and to networks making up The Internet.
Violation of any United States, Tennessee State or international
laws will be immediately reported to the proper authorities.
Compiling or copying programs from other systems for use on
Aeneas Internet Services computer systems is expressly prohibited
unless you receive prior authorization from Aeneas. This includes
cgi programs such as perl or shell scripts used in web publications.
If you are a web publisher using an Aeneas computer system all
requests for cgi script placement will be honored immediately
but only after security checks are made on any such cgi script.
The intent of this policy is for the protection of the Aeneas
operating systems and must be strictly adhered to.
“Unlimited” or “Un-metered” Analog
Internet Access Terms and Conditions of Use.
Aeneas “Unlimited” or “Un-metered”
Analog dial up Internet access is intended for residential use
only. This service is intended for periodic, active use of email,
newsgroups, file transfers, Internet chat, games, and browsing
the World Wide Web. Commercial use is expressly forbidden. Unlimited
ISDN access is not permitted. Sustained long Connections and
Multiple Logins are prohibited. Using a personal account for
high volume or commercial use is prohibited. Members may stay
connected so long as they are actively using that connection
for the above purposes. Members may not use the Services on
a standby or inactive basis in order to maintain a connection.
Pinging is expressly prohibited. Aeneas “Unlimited”
access is intended for use of a single computer. Use of Router
or other CPE supporting LAN use is forbidden. Accordingly, Aeneas
maintains the right to terminate any member's connection or
account if a violation is discovered or, following an extended
period of inactivity as determined by Aeneas
Aeneas WWW Services
Aeneas is neither responsible nor liable for material published
on our servers. Personal and commercial WWW sites are the responsibility
of the site contractors and managers.
The following types of content are unwelcomed and if brought
to our attention will be barred from utilizing our services:
Nudity/Pornography, Copyright Infringement, Software Piracy,
Racism/Hatred Pages, Excessive Profanity, Material that exploits
children, Illegal activities, Hacking, Promotion of physical
harm or signposts to another server with any of the above listed
characteristics. Aeneas is not responsible for any loss of information
or files stored on our servers.
Additional System Guidelines
The following are considered general use guidelines. Aeneas
Internet Services expects that our users will adhere to generally
acceptable Internet netiquette. Depending on the severity of
the violation, actions will result in a warning, revocation
of certain account privileges, or complete account purging.
Don't send abusive messages, hate-messages, or any other messages
that can be construed as harassment. If someone requests that
you stop sending them messages of any kind, any further messages
to that individual or account will be construed as harassment.
Don't send chain letters or private messages to parties not
intended by the original author.
Don't send messages to large numbers of recipients.
Don't use an excessively large signature. Large signatures
waste valuable resources and network bandwidth. Don't forge
messages.
Don't send unsolicited advertisements via mail.
Don't post off-topic messages to Usenet news.
Don't post the same or similar messages to large numbers of
Usenet newsgroups.
Aeneas explicitly forbids the use of its Network for the impersonation
or false representation of another person. Aeneas reserves the
right to terminate service to any person who violates this policy.
If Aeneas Internet Services administration receives reports
of violations of any of these policies or guidelines the administration
reserves the right to investigate the use of Aeneas Internet
Services provided equipment and networks by the person or persons
in question.
If you are subjected to harassment please be sure to report
it to the administration.
All unread email older than 90 days will be deleted from our servers and unrecoverable.
In General
Don't allow anyone else to use your account, you are responsible
for your account's actions. You must remember that there are
minors on the Internet so please consider your audience before
sending messages or becoming involved in electronic conversation
with other Internet users.
